World Club Championship will be opened at Jeju Nine Bridge Golf Club

The World Club Championship (WCC), in which golf club champions match their skills against each other, will be opened at Jeju Nine Bridge Golf Club for 4 days from May 8, 2007.

48 champions from 24 clubs of 14 countries including United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Australia, and Spain will participate in this tournament, collaboratively sponsored by CJ Group and Nine Bridge Gold Club. In this championship, clubs other than Pine Valley (US), selected as 1st position of 100 top golf field worldwide in 2005, Royal Melbourne from Australia (10th position), Royal Donok from Scotland (15th position), Royal Birkdale from UK (31st position), Valderrama from Spain, where Ryder Cup Tournament was opened in 1997 (70th position), Tokyo from Japan (94th position) will participate.

This tournament, created in 2002, has characteristic of amateur international league upon honor of each country and club, and tournament format, had been carried out in Stroke Play Format until last year, will be changed to Match Play Format from this year. Preliminary match will be started in Four-Ball Format (In which duo team plays with their own respective ball then totalize better score as team score) on May 8, second and third round will be continued at next day, semi-final round at third day, and final round will be progressed at last day. This tournament is planned to be recorded by US golf channel and broadcasted in several countries including Australia and United Kingdom by end of July. Next tournament will be opened at Pine Valley Golf Field in Beijing, China.
