The Fun Meal campaign provides underfed children with a special menu, including steak and truffle cream risotto.
The CJ Welfare Foundation (chairman, Lee Jay-hyun) will conduct the Fun Meal campaign through which they provide special food to underfed children during the winter vacation to help them enjoy a fun food culture experience.
Since 2017, the CJ Welfare Foundation has conducted the ‘Resonance of One Meal’ campaign, which provides special menu meal kits and food ingredients to local child centers, having delivered a total of 58,000 meals to over 9,500 children so far. This year, the foundation will also conduct this giving campaign through which it will deliver special meals to 140 child centers for children who would normally be underfed during the winter vacation and for children who live in isolated regions where they can hardly experience restaurant meals.
‘Fun Meal’ is the new name of the ‘Resonance of One Meal’ campaign, which has delivered special menu to a total of 9,500 children since 2017.
Starting this year, this campaign will have a new name, ’Fun Meal,’ as it will be conducted in collaboration with tvN’s year-end campaign ‘tvN Fun First.’ Anyone can participate in this campaign either online or offline through the CJ ONE app or at the ‘tvN Fun First’ popup store in Seongsu-dong, and special meals will be provided to underfed children based on the amount of the collected donation through a one-to-one matching grant program.
Consisting of items preferred by children, ranging from CJ Freshway meal kits, such as top blade pepper steak, truffle cream risotto, and rose noodle tteokbokki, to handmade cookies, the special menu is expected to bring both delicious foods and fun memories to children who might otherwise have been underfed during the winter vacation.
The online/offline donating campaign on CJ ONE app and at the tvN Fun First popup store in Seongsu, also with some events for donors.
You can participate in this campaign from the 5th of this month by visiting the CJ Donorscamp website or the CJ ONE app, clicking on the ‘Fun Meal’ banner, and donating with your CJ ONE points, credit card or mobile phone payment. You can also take part in this campaign from a dedicated kiosk in the tvN Fun First popup store in Seongsu-dong, which will be open from December 9 to 25.
There will be a gift event for donors as well. Of the online donors who leave a comment and the offline donors at the popup store in Seongsu-dong, 200 donors will be given some special tvN merchandise, such as a tvN Friends Doll or a tvN Fun First Tool Box.
A source from a child center located in Dasom, Cheongju, which received meals through the Resonance of One Meal campaign last year, said, “Our center has many children who have hardly been able to experience a family restaurant because there are no family restaurants in this area, but the meal kits gave these children a similar experience as well as some nice meals. I hope this support continues so that more children can experience various foods and food culture.”
A source from the CJ Welfare Foundation said, “Over the last five years, the Resonance of One Meal campaign has provided various foods and food culture experiences to children who would otherwise have been underfed during their vacation, and it is very meaningful that this campaign will include an offline donating event for the first time in collaboration with tvN this year. As there is a growing number of underfed children due to lack of care after the outbreak of COVID-19, we would like more people to participate in this giving activity to help those children in need enjoy their winter vacation together with some special meals.”
