CJ Olive Young opened its brand store on Shopee as a shop-in-shop to kick start the sales of its cosmetic brands. This will be the starting point for the company to introduce high-quality Korean cosmetics to the local consumers who are keen on K-beauty.

Shopee is the largest online shopping platform in Southeast Asia active in seven Asian countries, including Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Taiwan. It is also the leader in mobile services that are customized to the preference of local users, surpassing 200 million app downloads as of last year.

CJ Olive Young made inroads into the Southeast Asian market, by signing an MOU with the largest distribution company in Southeast Asia, Dairy Farm Group, at the end of 2019 and entered the local health & beauty store, Guardian. This year is expected to be a milestone year when the company expands its business in full-scale in Southeast Asia, by targeting both online and offline distribution channels.

There are six Olive Young brands that will be sold on the Olive Young Store on Shoppe. They are color cosmetics brands WAKEMAKE and colorgram, skin care brands ROUND A’ROUND, BOTANIC HEAL boH, BRING GREEN, and beauty accessory brand Fillimilli. The company carefully selected approximately 300 products from its six brands that have become popular among overseas consumers through word-of-mouth for being cost-effective.

As there are many fans of K-beauty and mobile shopping among the younger generations in Indonesia and Malaysia, CJ Olive Young plans to introduce outstanding Korean cosmetics and secure its footing as the leading K-beauty platform.

A CJ Olive Young representative said, “We have now set up a foothold upon which we can grow by targeting both online and offline distribution platforms in Southeast Asia, a fiercely competitive market of K-beauty.
