CJ Freshway (CEO Moon Jong-seok) announced on the 21st that it was rated AA in the Importer and Exporter categories of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification hosted by Korea Customs Service (Commissioner Roh Suk-hwan). CJ Freshway is the first in the food and distribution industries to have attained AA-grade certification. AEO certification is provided to companies that have gained recognition in the areas of law compliance, internal control system, financial solvency, and security management based on the import/export supply chain safety management standards of the World Customs Organization (WCO) by Korea Customs Service. AEO-recognized companies are rated A, AA, or AAA. CJ Freshway was rated AA in the AEO screening this year, an improvement from the previous rating, by receiving high evaluations for import/export security management in the Importer and Exporter categories. Through this certification, CJ Freshway is granted various administrative benefits in the import/export process, such as the reduction of the cargo inspection rate and fast-track customs clearance, until 2025.
CJ Freshway was rated A for the first time in the industry in 2012 and was renewed for its certification in 2015 after the termination of the certification period. AEO certification is renewed every five years through the recertification process. Director Yoon Tae-hyeok of SCM at CJ Freshway said, “The higher-level certification testifies to the excellence of CJ Freshway’s import/export management system. We will continue to strive to improve our global business competence and further raise our AEO score.”
