CJ Freshway (CEO Moon Jong-seok), CJ Group’s food distribution and food service specialist, is rolling up its sleeves to support farmers experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19.
CJ Freshway announced on the 14th that it will hold a special event entitled “Valuable Shopping – Helping Farmers Hit by COVID-19” on the website of CJ THE MARKET (www.cjthemarket.com), CJ CheilJedang’s official online mall, and sell eco-friendly agricultural produce packaged in bundles until the 30th. This measure is to help promote the sales of farms producing agricultural products for schools, which are now closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The produce comes in two types of bundles: “Fruitful Bundle” consisting of 7 kinds of fruits and vegetables including 1kg of immunity-boosting ripe tomatoes, 1 packet of 2-3 pears, spinach touted as a superfood, and winter cabbage and priced at KRW 29,900 and “Economical Bundle” consisting of 6 kinds of vegetables including silverbeet, curled mallow, and zucchini and priced at KRW 19,900.
A CJ Freshway staff member said, “We designed this event to help relieve the worries of farmers whose sales channels have been blocked due to COVID-19. We hope consumers will recognize the hard work and perspiration invested into such produce and reward farmers with warm-hearted, compassionate shopping.”
