- Tous Les Jours opens in Indonesia's top three airports (Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali), elevating the status of Korean bakery.
- Operating over 380 branches in 7 countries, Tous Les Jours is the Korean bakery brand that has entered the most countries and operates the most branches.
CJ Foodville's Tous Les Jours opened in all of Indonesia's top three airports, solidifying its reputation as a premium bakery brand.
CJ Foodville (CEO Koo Chang-Gun), Korea's only global food service company, announced on the 28th that it has opened Tous Les Jours in Ngurah Rai International Airport located in Bali, Indonesia.
The airport located in Bali, the world's largest resort city visited by more than 11 million tourists every year, has the largest traffic among all Indonesian airports. The new Tous Les Jours branch is located in the departure lounge and is a bakery cafe.
Prior to this, a Tous Les Jours branch opened in Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia, last February. Then in May, the 300th overseas Tous Les Jours branch opened in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport located in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. By opening the new branch in the Bali airport this time, Tous Les Jours now operates its branches in all of the top three airports in Indonesia, proving its status as a beloved bakery brand throughout the country. It is noteworthy that Tous Les Jours was permitted to open in airports, which usually have a strict policy on opening up foreign brand stores; before Tous Les Jours opened, Starbucks had been the only global food and beverage brand operating in the Bali airport.
"Tous Les Jours took root quickly as a leading premium bakery brand after it arrived in Indonesia," said a CJ Foodville official. "Our localization strategy based on the knowhow and capabilities we built in other countries such as Vietnam has worked well."
CJ Foodville entered Indonesia in 2011 and currently operates 55 Tous Les Jours branches primarily in Jakarta, the capital city of the country. From there, it advanced into Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia, in May 2016. Encouraged by the positive consumer response to Tous Les Jours, the company is expanding its presence in the country, opening 14 branches in 2016 and 23 this year.
"CJ Foodville has an ambitious goal to realize the globalization of K-Food by advancing into the global market with our own brands rather than simply acquiring foreign brands," said a CJ Foodville official. "We expect that our company will grow further as a global food service company with customized expansion strategies for each country.
Tous Les Jours, a leading global brand of CJ Foodville, operates the most branches in the most countries among Korean bakery brands, operating as many as 380 branches in 7 foreign countries (as of December 2017). Tous Les Jours strives to promote the potential of Korean baked goods throughout the world with its differentiated brand competitiveness, elevating its status as a global-leading bakery.
