CJ Azit Gwangheungchang RE-OPENING ceremony

CJ Azit Gwangheungchang is re-opened. Now, it acts as both a recording studio as well as a theater. On April 12, notable figures from cultural circles, musicians and creators were invited to celebrate a new beginning. More than 100 people from the cultural and artistic backgrounds, including Shin Jung-Hyeon, the godfather of Korean rock, attended the re-opening ceremony held at CJ Azit Gwangheungchang.

"On April 12, CJ Azit Gwangheungchang re-opens!"

CJ Azit Gwangheungchang, which was initially opened in 2009, has been a space that supports various genres of creative activities. Performances communicating with the audiences, such as music, dramas and musicals, were showcased on stage here. In April 2017, it re-opened with a new look.

Notable figures from the cultural field, such as Shin Jung-Hyeon, the godfather of Korean rock, Lim Jin-Mo, a music critic, Ahn Sung-Ki, an actor, Jeong Won-Yeong and eAeon, gathered together to celebrate the reopening of CJ Azit Gwangheungchang.

I took time to explore the new CJ Azit Gwangheungchang. Everything from the lobby on the first floor to the artist lounge and recording studio on the second floor! Looking around everywhere, I was pleased to see all the new spaces for musicians.

Shin Jung-Hyeon autographed the first album of the famed music trio, ‘Shin Jung-Hyeon & Yupjuns’. My time there was well worth it. I hope that young musicians will be able to create more wonderful music at CJ Azit Gwangheungchang.

CJ Azit Gwangheungchang was transformed into a space where the dreams of young musicians can become a reality! Those who participated in the re-opening ceremony started the event by cutting the tape. Shin Jung-Hyeon, Ahn Sung-Ki, eAeon, Jeong Won-Yeong and Han Gyeong-Rok and many others graced the occasion with their presence.

Announcer Kim Jin-Joo emceed the CJ Azit Gwangheungchang re-opening ceremony. Min Hee-Gyeong, head of the CJ Social Value Team, welcomed the participants with a welcome speech. She said that she constantly gives deep thought about what musicians need the most. She pledged unflinching support for them so that they can realize their dreams through CJ Azit Gwangheungchang.

Then, she introduced some CJ Culture Foundation projects, and told the participants how the foundation would support creators.

Various performances were showcased on stage to celebrate the re-opening of CJ Azit Gwangheungchang. The Musical gala show, planned by Stage Up, was the first to take the stage. They brought laughter to all those present at the ceremony by singing 2 songs. Iamnot, the 17th Tune Up, showed off a charismatic stage performance, followed by Han Seung-seok & Jeong Jae-il’s ‘Maybe’ performance! All of them instilled a deep sense of enrichment to the CJ Azit Gwangheungchang re-opening ceremony.

The re-opening ceremony was ultimately wrapped up by the congratulatory messages of those who visited CJ Azit Gwangheungchang. CJ Azit Gwangheungchang has now been transformed into a space for musicians! I hope that it will establish itself as a new space for creation. Your continued support for the various performances and creative activities at CJ Azit Gwangheungchang will be greatly appreciated.
