CJ O’liveNetworks wins Grand Prize at Korea Big Data Awards

CJ O’liveNetworks (CEO Lee Kyung-Bae, Hur Min-Ho) recently announced that it won the Grand Prize (Statistics Korea Commissioner Prize) in the Technology Solution category at the 3rd Korea Big Data Awards.

The Korea Big Data Awards is an event designed to award businesses which have contributed to increasing the value and usefulness of data and created added values through big data. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and Maeil Business Newspaper, organized by Korea Big Data Society and sponsored by Statistics Korea.

CJ O’liveNetworks won the Grand Prize (Statistics Korea Commissioner Prize) for helping its customers to strengthen their service competitiveness and advance into new business areas by developing a social data analytics platform.

The social data analytics platform of CJ O’liveNetworks is a solution for real-time analysis of popular keywords and emotion keywords, keyword frequency and associated word trends on social media platforms, such as blogs, Facebook and Instagram. The solution can be used to identify customer behavior patterns, emotion changes, potential desires and market trends. Currently, some CJ affiliates, including CJ CGV, CJ CheilJedang, CJ Foodville, CJ Freshway and CJ O Shopping, are utilizing the big data technology of CJ O’liveNetworks to improve their marketing competencies based on the creation of new customer experiences.
