Seri Pak wins LPGA Corning Classic

Seri Pak climbed to the top after 13 months in the LPGA’s Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic and recorded her 24th winning in LPGA together with her first victory in the season. This winning also confirmed Pak’s advancement into the ‘Hall of Fame’ of KLPGA.

In the match that was held in Highland Meadows CC (71 pars) on the 16th (Korean time), Seri Pak won the title at a 17-under 267 with 4-under-par 67 in the final round.

It was a complete victory for Pak to beat Morgan Pressel (14-under-par 270), the competitor, by 3 shots.

With this, Pak gained the top again in 13 months after her winning of McDonald’s Championship in June last year. This was also Pak’s fifth win (1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2007), which is a tie to the record of the most number of wins in a single match achieved by Mickey Wright (US) in Sea Island Open and Annika Sorenstam (Sweden) in Samsung World Championship and Mizuno Classic.
