CJ Donates 300 Million Won for Earthquake Relief in Turkey

CJ Group (Chairman Lee Jay-hyun) announced on the 14th that it will be donating 300 million won for earthquake relief in Turkey, where the recent disastrous earthquake caused a serious amount of damage.

The relief fund will be delivered via the Community Chest of Korea to be used for relief activities and damage recovery in Turkey.

According to a CJ official, “We hope that the funds can be of even a little help to the Turkish people who are going through tremendous amounts of pain due to this unexpected disaster. Our hearts are with them as we pray for a quick restoration.”

Currently, a few of CJ Group’s subsidiaries are conducting business in Turkey, including CJ Logistics, which operates a logistics business locally through a global affiliate, and CJ CGV, which owns and operates multiplex locations in the region.

CJ Group has been actively participating in relief activities, delivering relief supplies, and providing support funds in the event of major overseas disasters, including the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China, the 2011 earthquake in Japan, and the 2018 earthquake in Indonesia.
