CJ CGV will actively embark on practicing Green Survival management by introducing multi-use containers. Starting on the 6th, CJ CGV will conduct a pilot run of its multi-use cup program with Trash Busters at CGV Deungchon and other locations.
You can use a multi-use container at these CGV locations as follows: When purchasing a carbonated beverage at the cafeteria of CGV Deungchon, you can choose whether to use a disposable cup or a multi-use cup. At that point, if you choose a multi-use cup, you receive an orange multi-use cup. You can enjoy your desired beverage in your multi-use cup in the self-soda zone, and you just need to return it to one of the collection boxes located on the exit route or at the lobby after you finish watching your movie. Because the process involved is simple, even first-time customers can participate in the Green Survival activity with ease. When purchasing a multi-use cup, press the bursting score button located right next to the pickup zone at the store, and the score will be reflected, allowing you to see the number of customers participating in environmental activities through CGV at a glance. The collected multi-use cups are then reused after undergoing thorough hygiene procedures including a 7-stage professional cleaning system and vacuum packaging.
The process is simple: you are provided with a multi-use cup when purchasing a beverage, and you return the cup to one of the collection boxes located on the exit route and at the lobby.
As preparations for the pilot run of the program at movie theaters, CJ CGV replaced all of the disposable containers in its Yongsan main office building with multi-use ones, in a joint effort with Trash Busters that started in May this year.
CJ CGV's Social Value Management Team leader Jung-eun Cho said, "While thinking about what CGV can do for the environment, we came up with the idea of adopting multi-use containers through cooperation with Trash Busters. Through the pilot run of the program, we aim to increase customers' interest in the use of multi-use containers, and we’ll make improvements as we go so that customers can use multi-use containers more conveniently.”
“Green Survival” means that we should go beyond simply being environmentally friendly and think actively about the environment. CJ CGV is continuing its efforts to practice Green Survival management through activities such as the energy-saving Good Shop campaign that it conducted jointly with the Korea Energy Agency, the 60-second ultra-short film festival that promoted the correct separate waste collection system for transparent plastic bottles, and the production of waste screen goods.
