CJ OliveNetworks will carry the business forward with production automation facility manufacturer Russell (CEO Kwon Soon-Wook), which has been involved in a strategic partnership with the company since last year. They will establish not only the software that is to be applied to the smart logistics center but also the hardware necessary for the entire process, such as incoming and outgoing, transport, sorting, etc.

The smart logistics center will have automated facilities that can be operated without human involvement, such as autonomous transport robots, automated warehouses, unmanned delivery vehicles, semi-automatic loading and unloading facilities, shuttles, and automatic sorters, which are established by applying new DT technologies such as AI, big data, and IoT.

PICO Innovation held a groundbreaking ceremony for the center at the Pyeongtaek Dream Tech Industrial Complex on the 18th. Many important figures attended the event, such as CJ OliveNetworks CEO Cha In-hyok, PICO Innovation Chairman Cho Yong-jun, Korea Federation of SMEs Vice Chairman Kwon Hyuk-hong, Democratic Party of Korea member Kim Kyung-man, and People Power Party member Yu Eui-dong. The logistics center will be completed by June 2022. “We will create synergy by combining our experience in operating a smart logistics center with Russell’s competency in smart manufacturing facilities,” said Kim Hee-sung of NEXT Business 2 at CJ OliveNetworks. “We will be able to build an optimal smart logistics center with a differentiated, integrated solution that provides facilities, SW, and maintenance by applying new DT technologies.”
