CJ CheilJedang will extend the production line for ‘Bibigo Grilled Fish’ and double its manufacturing competencies. This will be done to prepare in advance for the rapidly growing demand for fishery HMR products and continue to lead the market with the capacity to produce a greater variety of fish species.
The company is currently selling five types of ‘Bibigo Grilled Fish’, including Mackerel, Sole, Spanish mackerel, Atka mackerel, and Pacific saury, surpassing 6 million products in cumulative sales volume as of the end of last month, which is 1 year and 6 months after the release. The cumulative sales is currently at 25 billion KRW, showing a monthly average growth of 20% last year with increasing consumer demands. It is unusual that a fishery HMR brand has grown into a brand with the annual sales of 10 billion KRW in the HMR market, which has been focused mostly on meat.

CJ CheilJedang will present various grilled fish products to keep pace with the accelerating ‘home-cooking trend’ using this extended production line. The company will provide ‘fish protein diets’ using ‘Bibigo Grilled Fish’ and also conduct a new campaign to meet consumer needs this year like last year’s campaign ‘Fish Today, Menu Today’, which was well received by consumers.
The company will also expand into overseas markets in the mid-/long run. The goal is to contribute to widely promoting the excellent K-fishery processed goods overseas by exporting the ‘K-food style grilled fish’ to major countries worldwide.
