CJ’s global Korean food brand bibigo(www.bibigo.co.kr) announced its plan to execute a variety of activities to expand its social contribution programs overseas and to contribute to local communities, starting with those in Singapore.
bibigo concluded a signing ceremony for a social contribution agreement with World Vision Singapore and pledged to join in World Vision’s activity to support the underprivileged children. As part of the agreement, bibigo will donate two per cent of the sales revenue from bibigo rice, one of the bibigo’s popular bibimbab menu items, as sold at its three bibigo stores in Singapore, with the donation drive ending October 4.
bibigo previously ran ‘bibigo sharing lunchbox campaign’ with CJ sharing foundation and World Vision Korea last May, donating two percent of the sales revenue of five types of sharing lunchboxes to World Vision Korea for their ‘Lunchbox with Love campaign’.
More recently, bibigo hosted a meaningful event with the Mongolian children choir being invited by World Vision Singapore to enjoy Korean food at bibigo Marina Bay Finance Center branch in Singapore on July 15. The Mongolian children choir Blue Sky Choir consists of children from low-income families. They visited the bibigo store as part of the event and enjoyed one of the most popular Korean dishes, ‘bibimbab’.
A source from bibigo said:“As a global brand that runs more stores overseas than domestically, bibigo has decided to expand its social contribution activity overseas in order to meet its social responsibilities and to communicate with the local societies to which bibigo contributes. bibigo will continue to build on this initiative in the future, with Singapore as the starting point.”
