The scope of candidates and the scale of the contest have expanded and is a chance to publicize the importance of eating vegetables and sustainable eating.

I-NURI, a kids' specialty food brand from CJ Freshway, holds Love Your Veggies, an educational eco-friendly eating habit contest. In this second contest following the first which was held last year, CJ Freshway has set out to spread a culture of healthy eating by expanding the scope of candidates from children attending daycare centers in Seoul to those across the nation and increasing the size of awards and recognitions provided.

Love Your Veggies will have two categories, groups (development of educational programs for daycare centers) and individuals (raising vegetables at home), and will be held in partnership with the Korea Edu-care Association (KECA) and National Council of Childcare Support Centers to let children recognize naturally about the importance of healthy eating and protecting the environment while eating and playing.

For the group category, teachers at daycare centers affiliated with KECA need to develop an educational program that promotes sustainable eating habits. They then apply for the program in their daycare center and submit the results of the program. The Minister of Health and Welfare Award and KECA Chairman's Award will be presented with a total prize money worth KRW 50 million. Winning entries will be announced in a booklet at KECA’s national convention scheduled to be held in the second half of the year.

Candidates can develop educational content on eating habits that can be taught at childcare centers or grow vegetables, and submit entries by July 14.

Any parents and children from across the country can apply for the individual category of the contest. For the contest, candidates must use products like Grow Cherry Tomatoes, an educational home gardening product from I-NURI, and share their experience of growing vegetables. They can submit photos or videos of growing plants alongside a document explaining the experience. Alternatively, they can draw a picture based on the theme, “Our Blue Planet” drawing on what they felt throughout the plant-growing experience. Candidates can grow any type of plant regardless of the type of seeds. Homes receiving support from the National Council of Childcare Support Centers can apply for Grow Cherry Tomatoes kit to get one free of charge.

Applicants for both categories of Love Your Veggies can submit their applications or entries between May 15 and July 14. Visit CJ Freshway’s official I-NURI Instagram account for more details. Winners for the group category will be announced at the end of August and winners for the individual category will be announced around the end of July.

CJ Freshway has signed an MOU with KECA and the National Council of Childcare Support Centers on the development of good eating habits. Through the cooperation for the contest, CJ Freshway seeks to develop quality educational content for daycare centers and homes nationwide and to apply the winning ideas in daycare centers.

A CJ Freshway representative said, “We planned and launched a contest that teaches children the great habit of eating vegetables and the importance of eco-friendly practices as part of our ESG management framework. I-NURI will continue to work with KECA and the National Council of Childcare Support Centers and spread healthy food culture that reflects the voice of daycare center teachers and parents nationwide.”

CJ Freshway is eagerly carrying out ESG management practices through the promotion of a healthy food culture and a sustainable distribution system. CJ Freshway I-NURI is offering a systematic educational program on food culture, including a campaign ‘Let’s Eat Healthily’, which promotes healthy eating habits for children. I-NURI also provides infant and toddler education institutions with products certified by national institutions, such as environmentally friendly, organic, and GAP-certified agricultural products, fishery products that passed the radioactivity tests, and antibiotic-free livestock products.
