A rookie, Lee Ji Young, winner of the Korea Open in May this year, notched up her first LPGA Tour win after leading from start to finish in the CJ Nine Bridges Classic, held from October 28 to 30.

Lee, 20, fired one-over 73 with three birdies and four bogeys on the 6,274-yard course in her third and final round for a total of five-under 211. With KRW 200 million in prize money, she secured the right to participate in the LPGA tour for two years.

She won by three strokes from her better-known veteran compatriot Kim Mi-Hyun and Carin Koch of Sweden. Annika Sorenstam ranked 14th with a total four-over 73.
