CJ Group announced on December 23 that it had donated KRW 2 billion to the Community Chest of Korea.
This donation will be used for welfare programs for vulnerable social groups, the various support programs for the healthy growth of underprivileged children and youths, the social job connection project for young cultural artists, and so on.
To help these socially vulnerable groups, CJ has been making donations to the Community Chest of Korea at the end of each year since 2015 with the company now having donated KRW 14 billion up until 2020.
“We hope that this will be a great comfort to our neighbors who are having a hard time at the end of the year due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” said a CJ official. “We will do our best to use the competency and infrastructure of the group to fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
CJ has been sharing with others this year to practice the win-win philosophy of the group. To participate in the social efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, CJ Group made a donation totaling KRW 3.5 billion in cash and in kind, and last August, it donated KRW 500 million to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to help with the recovery from the damage caused by heavy rain and to also support the victims.
