CJ CheilJedang holds 2016 Hope Sharing Gift Set Assembling Activity
On September 26, CJ CheilJedang carried out the 2016 Food Bank Hope Sharing Gift Set Assembling Activity at the warehouse of Food Bank located in Changdong, Dobong-gu, Seoul.
"We assemble gift sets featuring daily necessities for our neighbors in need."
Since first being launched in 2002, this activity is a volunteering program where CJ CheilJedang's employees gather and assemble gift sets featuring daily necessities to be donated to the Food Bank, and this year's activity was more meaningful than ever due to the participation of singer Park Bo-Ram and her fans.
The participants assembled a total of 2,000 gift sets on that day, with one gift set consisting of red chili pepper paste, soybean paste, wheat flour, sugar and cooking oil, which can serve a family of four for three months.
Those gift sets will be delivered via the Food Bank to our neighbors in need, including low-income families, senior citizens who live alone, children and youth who are heads of household and under-nourished children.
CJ CheilJedang assembles 18,000 to 20,000 sets of this gift every year, and especially this year, an additional 1,000 sets from the Sincere Heart Project that engages the company's customers will be donated.
The Sincere Heart Project is a campaign where a customer can add the number of gift sets to be donated by handwriting the phrase "I Deliver My Sincere Heart" and taking a picture of it and posting on Instagram.
"As the No.1 food company in Korea, CJ CheilJedang has conducted the food sharing activity in partnership with the Food Bank over the last 19 years," said Yim Seok-Hwan, Head of CSV Management Team, CJ CheilJedang. "Like the Sincere Heart Project that we introduced this year, we will continue to expand donation activities that are more meaningful and sincere."
